A Message from the President
The Chattanooga Airport offers unmatched convenience and seamless service for business and leisure travelers across the Southeast. In 2024, CHA set a new enplanement record with 556,958 passengers, surpassing our previous high of 554,050 in 2019 and marking a 14.17% increase from 2023. More recently, the airport hit two back-to-back records for monthly passenger boardings: the first in May totaling 55,939 and the second in June with 58,072. We are deeply grateful to our passengers and airline partners for helping us reach these milestones.
In March 2024, we celebrated the grand opening of our $28 million terminal expansion, our largest since 1991. This transformative project added 26,000 square feet, including three new gates, expanded security lanes, new concessions and a business center powered by EPB’s 10 Gig WiFi. Renovations to 36,000 square feet of existing concourse space also improved passenger flow and support for increased flight capacity.
We’re especially thankful to our airline partners for maintaining nonstop service to key destinations like Washington, D.C., Miami and Detroit, while expanding access to Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago and more. Allegiant launched its nonstop service to Las Vegas in May 2024 and its nonstop service to Punta Gorda in February 2025, and Delta resumed its nonstop service to LaGuardia in October 2024. And most recently, in June 2025, Spirit Airlines began service out of CHA with nonstop routes to Newark, Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale. Today, CHA offers nonstop service to 15 destinations and provides access to hundreds of worldwide connections through five commercial carriers.
Chattanooga Airport is the fastest-growing small hub airport in the United States this summer, with a 32% increase in seat capacity for the upcoming third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium. By comparison, small hub airports nationwide average 4% year-over-year growth in Q3 seat capacity. This increase is a result of our expanded service and new destinations thanks to CHA’s existing and new airline partners.
In July 2025, the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority Board of Commissioners approved construction on a new $35 million parking garage that will add approximately 1,600 parking spaces to accommodate rising passenger demand. The project is expected to be completed in 2027 and will further improve convenience and accessibility for travelers.
CHA is also proud to be home to West Star Aviation, a trusted partner that continues to grow its presence. In 2023, they opened a 44,000-square-foot maintenance hangar, bringing their total footprint to 300,000 square feet dedicated to the service of private and corporate aircraft. Later this year, West Star will break ground on a new hangar, making this their sixth facility on site at CHA.
And finally, we’re excited to announce the complete renovation of a new post-security restaurant space, The Observation Deck, which is anticipated to be complete by the end of August 2025. This bright, modern venue will feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the airfield, more than 60 seats, and a full-service restaurant and bar.
As we look to the future, we remain committed to expanding airline offerings, improving infrastructure, and continuing to deliver a top-tier airport experience. Our growth is a direct result of the continued support from our travelers, carriers and community, and for that, we thank you.
Sincerely,
April Cameron
